2017 BMW X5 Review, Release Date and Price – Welcome to the latestcarsuv.com, we will provide the latest information about the BMW X5. The car that is environmentally friendly and comfortable to drive, this may be a suitable nickname for the 2017 BMW X5. This car is one of the brand new cars from BMW, which was released in 2017. We will also review about the price, interior, exterior and engine of the latest 2017 BMW X5.

2017 BMW X5 Release

Photos of the upcoming 2017 BMW X5 have been doing rounds on the internet for quite some time now. Although the model is under heavy camouflage, we can work out a host of styling cues from the photos. We expect all-rounded changes including engine upgrades.  The good thing about the X5 is how well it balances luxury, versatility and convenience. The X5 is also quite frugal for a model its size courtesy of its xDrive intelligent AWD technology as well as the EfficientDynamics eDrive.

The BMW X5 wasn’t the first luxury SUV, but it has been around long enough to solidify its position as one of the best in its class. The 2017 BMW X5 lineup continues the evolution by satisfying all of the comfort and convenience requirements demanded by families and pleasing drivers with strong performance and an engaging driving experience.

BMW’s charge into every SUV segment hasn’t watered down the one that started it all. The 2017 BMW X5 is a benchmark for luxury SUVs and the bar by which many are compared. Its off-road ability is eclipsed only by its on-road manners, and its interior style and comfort make this SUV a must-see for shoppers.

We expect there’ll be another permutation of a crossover-coupe-SUV-sedan-wagon to charge out of Munich by the time we’re done with this story.

All of this excellence does come at a cost, however, and the X5 starts at well over $56,000. The value proposition is challenged by its relatively cramped and optional third row of seats. Even with these drawbacks taken into account, the X5’s strengths are substantial enough to maintain a solid Edmunds A rating.

2017 BMW X5 Price

The estimated price for the latest car 2017 BMW X5 range between $54,000 – $70,000 based on the current dollar exchange rate. If there are changes in prices for car 2017 BMW X5 we will notify you as soon as possible, so keep following the blog latestcarsuv.com.

2017 BMW X5 Specs

Everyone very much hope at the 2017 BMW X5 release is better than the previous version. So we’ll review the interior, exterior and some other features of the new car in 2017 BMW X5. Hopefully review the specifications of this car, can help you in choosing your dream car.

Although the vehicle we captured doing testing was heavily camouflaged, it is instantly recognizable as a BMW.  Its front end is characterized by the signature radiator grille synonymous with BMW. The grille is flanked by compact headlights that feature a ring of LEDs. Chrome is used extensively on the front fascia. The front fender has been redesigned to look more aerodynamic. The new front fascia looks bolder and sportier.

On the inside, you get dual-zone automatic climate control, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, premium vinyl upholstery, 14-way power-adjustable and heated front seats and driver memory functions, 40/20/40-split folding rear seats, BMW Assist emergency telematics, Bluetooth phone and streaming audio, a 10.2-inch central display screen, BMW’s iDrive technology interface, a navigation system with real-time traffic information, voice controls, and a nine-speaker sound system with a CD player, USB and auxiliary audio inputs, and HD radio.

Little is known about the 2017 BMW X5 interior as of this writing. However, I expect the cabin to be carried over largely unchanged from the outgoing model.  The SUV will accommodate 5 passengers spread across two rows. The rear seats will be highly adjustable to ensure rear passengers remain comfortable even during long trips. Buyers with large families can opt for a third row of seats which is suitable for children. The model will have better storage compartments on the doors to carry larger drinks. In terms of cargo space, the SUV offers 650 liters when the rear seats are up. The space expands to 1,870 liters upon folding the rear seats.

Moving over to the flanks, the model features huge wheel arches which hint at 20- to 22-inch wheels although the model is normally offered in 18- to 20-inch wheels. Most of the side profile was hidden meaning the model will receive a host of new updates.

Cargo capacity is slightly above average for the class, with 35.8 cubic feet of space behind the second row and 76.7 cubic feet with those seats folded. The xDrive40e’s battery pack reduces that volume slightly to 34.2 and 72.5 cubic feet, respectively. The X5 also gets points for its two-section power liftgate with its fold-down lower section that provides a handy place to sit for tailgating as well as assisting in loading bulky cargo.

Standard features will include a 10.2-inch touch-screen infotainment system, a multifunctional steering wheel, a rear camera, a dual-zone climate control system, a HUD display and a powerful 13-speaker audio system. The model will also feature various driving aids such as parking assist, lane change assist, blind spot monitoring and front collision mitigation with emergency brake assist among others.

Other options for the 2016 BMW X5 include a sportier adaptive M suspension (not available on the 40e), automated parking assistance, soft-close automatic doors, upgraded and/or extended leather upholstery, upgraded interior trim, smartphone app integration, and manual sunshades for the rear windows. All X5s except the hybrid can be equipped with second-row comfort seats (with fore/aft and recline adjustment) and a third-row seat (includes the rear air suspension). You can also order a deluxe Bang & Olufsen surround-sound audio system, a rear-seat entertainment system and a night-vision camera system.

2017 BMW X5 Engine

The X5 will be offered in a number of engines. The first mill on the base X5 sDrive35i models will be a 3.0 L, inline-6 which is good for 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.  This engine will power the SUV to make a 0-60 mph run in 6.0 seconds which is pretty impressive for the base model.  The X5 will also be offered with a hybrid drive-train (X5 xDrive40e). The setup will pair the xDrive40e electric motor with a 2.0 L, 4-cylinder engine which will produce 308 horses.

The xDrive35d uses with a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine that produces 255 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. BMW estimates it will reach 60 mph in 6.7 seconds. Fuel economy estimates aren’t available, but the 2016 35d model was rated at 25 mpg combined (23 city/29 highway).

The BMW X5 xDrive40e plug-in hybrid model combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor paired with a modified eight-speed automatic transmission and a 9-kWh battery pack under the cargo bay floor. Combined power output is 308 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. BMW claims the hybrid will reach 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and deliver 14 miles of electric-only propulsion. It should take just under three hours to charge fully at 240 volts. The EPA rates this model at 56 mpg equivalent in gas/electric mode and 24 mpg combined on gas only.

For more power, buyers can opt for the Xdrive50i’s 4.4 L turbocharged V-8. This mill pumps out a whopping 445 horses, which powers the SUV to 60 mph from standstill in 4.7 seconds. However, this will not be the most powerful engine in the lineup. That crown goes to the X5 M. This model adds another turbocharger to the already impressive 4.4 L mill to bump power output to 567 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the X5 M gets various performance upgrades.

A 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine provides standard power for the 2017 X5, producing 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. It comes linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Other available powerplants include a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 that puts out 445 horsepower, the 567-horsepower V8 M model, a six-cylinder diesel and a plug-in hybrid. All X5s except the rear-wheel drive entry-level 35i come standard with all-wheel drive.

Handling continues to be a strong suit for BMW?s midsize SUV. Some drivers may find the ride a bit on the stiff side, but most will appreciate the cornering ability and taut steering feel provided by the sport-oriented suspension. This, coupled with the standard turbo-boosted engine, which provides more than adequate power, gives the X5 a level of performance that rivals pretty much any other SUV in its market segment.
